Programme Overview
The tourism and hotel sector, which has grown strongly in Italy in recent years, is now facing the challenge of post-pandemic revival. In this context, it is necessary to have a broad vision and renewed managerial preparation to rethink tourism on a new basis, responding to new and specific customer needs.
The programme, born from the partnership between the Italian School of Hospitality and Luiss Business School, aims to provide knowledge and skills immediately applicable in the participants’ hotel activities or careers, making the most of the new opportunities offered in the sector.
After an initial online phase focused on the fundamental strategic processes of companies operating in the hospitality sector, participants will be able to select a specialisation pathway on the themes of food and wine, environment, wellness and culture in three venues intrinsically linked to the topics covered.
Course Programme
The programme consists of 2 main phases: the first is the Core Programme, focused on the fundamental strategic processes of companies operating in the hospitality sector, the second are the Specialisation paths aimed both at those who want to undertake a new project in an area related to the specialisations proposed, and at those who want to innovate and renew a service already offered in their facilities.

Specializations
Each student may choose to undertake one or more specialisations according to their professional interests, since the calendar provides for them to be developed in different and successive weeks. Each study tour will deal with a specialisation vertical with the aim of providing an overview of the specific sector and possible development scenarios. Experts and entrepreneurs will talk about the trends, the main criticalities and opportunities offered, describing also the challenges (i.e. Business challenges) on which the students will be able to work concretely.
Specialisation 1: Enogastronomy and F&B
The specialisation in Enogastronomy and F&B is dedicated to an in-depth study of the different aspects of food and wine sector. Participants will have the opportunity to understand the players, competitors and development drivers with best practices to know in order to develop efficient strategies. In addition, consumer behaviour and needs will be investigated, thanks also to the use of big data in customer insight management, in order to better manage relationships with customers and communicate services and products effectively. Finally, new trends in the food and beverage sector will be explored, identifying short and long-term revenue opportunities. The training course is enriched by a field experience in Florence. During this visit, participants will be able to meet local entrepreneurs active in the promotion of Apulian food and wine culture and discuss with them the opportunities, risks and criticalities related to a food and wine business.
Specialisation 2: Luxury Hospitality
The specialization in Luxury Hospitality aims to guide participants through the stages of developing and analyzing a business in a niche sector, capable of accounting alone for about a quarter of all tourism spending in Italy. The course begins with an in-depth study of the state of the art of the Industry, in order to fully understand the different players in the supply chain and the development drivers for a business in the Luxury sector. During the second module, participants will analyze the market context to determine what may be the new customers and the relative perception in order to investigate endogenous and exogenous market variables. At this stage, it is important to understand how best to use data and digital technologies to better guide marketing and management decisions. Having defined the development drivers, the focus will shift to the analysis of new prospects and revenue channels to support the business idea in the Luxury sector. The training experience will be held in Florence, one of Italy’s capitals for art, culture and food. Here the participants will meet local entrepreneurs to share with them the opportunities this area offers for the development of new projects with a focus on new Luxury products that can create a unique and synergistic link with the surrounding area.
CDP’s Florence office, in Piazza della Repubblica, is the point of access to the CDP Group’s offerings to support regional businesses and public entities and to exploit synergies with banking partners and local institutions.
